Manifesto for Sheffield businesses
水曜日, 9 12月 2009
Sheffield Chamber of Commerce is creating a policy document ahead of the general elections to highlight the needs of local businesses.
The manifesto will form the basis of all lobbying efforts and discussions with main political parties, elected representatives and public officials.
It is expected to be published in February and focus on priorities such as infrastructure, trade and enterprise, as well as hurdles to growth.
Among the issues dealt with will be investment, entrepreneurship, business support, skills and education, regeneration and creation of a sustainable economy.
Helen Rana, Sheffield Chamber's policy and representation manager, said: "We are drawing up a blueprint which will enable us to lobby accurately and effectively on behalf of all local businesses. The manifesto will also link into the regional and national Chamber documents.
"New jobs can only be created if businesses are successful and are encouraged to invest to develop new products and services. Plans made by the next government will have far-reaching consequences on this issue so they must provide a solid foundation for business growth."
